The year 2020, full of twists and dotted with wacky news, confirmed the importance of our involvement with our blue planet.

In 2011, we decided to return to Organic Farming, a vineyard that had been carried out in reasoned agriculture : then, everything was done in the cultivation of the vine but also in its environment to maintain the biodiversity of the ecosystems.

But converting the vineyard to organic farming takes time and energy... This transition lasts 3 years, and starts from the moment the winemaker certifies to a certifier organization that he respects the principles of the European specifications of organic production. In 2014 we obtained the “organic” label on our first cuvées.

We banished chemical fertilizer in vineyards : its effect remains unknown for a long time, however it's harmfull first of all for human and could be the cause of many diseases, such as parkinson’s, cancer or leukemia. But the damage doesn't stop there ; in order to considerably increase the yield of the crops, mineral fertilizers are used, and will on a low heat, sterilize soils and desertify them, but also pollute phreatics tables that feed rivers, affecting several ecosystems.

At the Domaine, we use natural fertilizer, efficient without polluting soil, air or water. Green fertilizers are also a major part of our culture : they are plants grown to improve fertility and soil structure, not to be harvested. Their benefits depend on their variety : for example, leguminous plants fix nitrogen from air to the ground, making it available to plants ; others smother weeds, or help regulate soil pH.

Step by step, we contribute to the development of a healthier world, respect of ecosystems  and our environment.
